Tuition can be paid in full in the beginning of the school year or in three installments on September 1, December 1, and March 1. The dance year is based on a 34 week program. Those who pay tuition in full at registration will have their registration fee of $25.00 waived. There are no refunds under any circumstances. Payments received 30 days past due are subject to a 5% late charge. There is a $30.00 fee for any check returned. All online credit card payments are subject to a 3% processing fee. As stated, the Registration fee of $175.00 is non refundable.
There are no refunds for missed classes due to illness, injury, vacation or dropping mid year.
In the event a student misses a class due to illness, she may make the class up in one of comparable level. There will be no refunds or credits for classes missed. Students must notify the instructor prior to attending a make-up class.
The Fall schedule is contingent on the number of students enrolled in a class. If there is not a sufficient number of students, the dance connection reserves the right to cancel or change the class to an alternate day/time. The dance connection will make every effort to find another class of similar level on an alternate day.
If the instructor cancels a class due to illness, a make-up class will be offered. The Dance Connection reserves the right to substitute a teacher for any class without notice.

Decisions for snow cancellations may not be made until one hour before class meets, but are usually made by early afternoon. If one class is canceled due to weather conditions, students will be given an opportunity to attend another class of comparable level. If more than one class is canceled there will be make-up classes offered during the spring recess or a scheduled Saturday. If the whole class can not attend the make-up class during spring recess, then it will be canceled and students will be given an opportunity to attend a class of comparable level.
Parents are encouraged to view their child’s classes. However, in the best interest of the students, there will be designated parent observation days that will be scheduled for three times during the year. All other times class studio observation will be closed to ensure that your children are getting the best out of their instruction without distraction.
The Dance Connection holds an annual recital in late May or early June. Costumes must be paid for in full by December. These costume payments are non-refundable. Tickets for the shows are sold to all parents and friends who wish to attend. All students, including preschoolers, are required to stay for the full duration of the show. It is not fair for students performing in the second half of the show to dance for half of the audience. Students do have an opportunity to view the show via closed circuit television backstage.
Awards will be given out at the end of the year during recital time for 3, 5, 8, 10, and 15 consecutive years of participation at The Dance Connection.
If your child is in the last class offered on a particular day, please be sure to pick them up on time. If you know you will be late, please notify the instructor prior to class. The Dance Connection is not responsible for students after their scheduled class time.
There will be an audition for any student interested in becoming a member of the “Dance Corp.” The audition will be in May or June. Students will be evaluated on technique, overall dance skills for their age and level and their ability to pick up the combination quickly. Students must be enrolled in Ballet as their foundation. In addition to Ballet, they must be enrolled in either Jazz and Lyrical, or Tap and Lyrical, or Jazz, Lyrical, and Tap. Certain rules and regulations will be required if accepted into the competition group. These rules and regulations will be available in September. The minimum age requirement is 4 years old.
Refunds may only be given if a student withdraws up to three weeks from his or her first class. After three weeks, the remainder may be put toward another class, but is no longer refundable. Registration fees are non-refundable. Please notify the Office manager and the instructor if your child decides to withdraw from the program. If the studio is not notified, you will continue to receive bills for tuition.
The Dance Connection staff reserves the right to ask a student to take a few minutes of personal time outside the classroom if he/she is not actively participating, showing respect for teachers and/or fellow teachers or having difficulties with focus. Our job is to make sure each and every student gets the most out of their classes. Proper behavior is necessary for the enjoyment and the continued progression of training for all students.
Any parent concerns should be done in writing and be made directly to the Director. Concerns should be limited to policies and procedure.
Student Liability - The Dance Connection is not responsible and will not be held responsible for any and all potential liability associated with participation in dance and acro gymnastics classes, harm or health hazards that may happen in the studio, waiting area, dressing rooms, parking lots and any venue where student is representing The Dance Connection. You understand that any dancer participating in a dance program takes certain incumbent risks. These include, but not limited to, sprained, pulled muscles and broken bones. Participation in dance class indicates acceptance of such risks by dancers. The Dance Connection assumes no responsibility for personal injury or property loss.
The Dance Connection reserves the right to dismiss a student or Family at any time if their behavior is not in character with the policies and beliefs of the studio.
weekly attendance in class is very important for a students development. Each class is based on proper technique and works on building these principles each week. If a student misses a class for any reason, they should make every effort to take a makeup class of comparable level. There are NO refunds or credits for any missed classes. If your student is more than 15 minutes late to class, they may be asked to sit and observe the remaining class time, as missing essential warmup can cause injury. this decision is left up to the DISCREtion of each teacher.
Our dress code is mandatory for every student. please see class attire listed on website. students must have appropriate shoes for each class. proper dress code ensures that teachers can see body lines and make sure proper corrections are made. ballet students should have hair secured in a bun.
No food or drinks other than water allowed in studios. no foods containing peanuts or any nut product allowed at all. no gum, candy or slime allowed in studio or dressing room.
lost and found is located in a bin in the dressing room. all unclaimed items are cleared and donated at the end of the year.
